GIANT SHIP BLUE MARLIN

We have already mentioned about it in the compilation of  the biggest ships . Blue Marlin - capable of half-submersible heavy lift ship designed to transport very large rigs, ships and other cargo. The ship is equipped with 38 cabins to accommodate 60 people, a workout room, sauna and a special swimming facilities. Blue Marlin and her twin Black Marlin belong to the class of heavy-lift vessels. They belong to the company of Oslo - Offshore Heavy Transport. Built in April 2000 and November 1999, respectively. The US Navy hired Blue Marlin, to deliver the warship USS Cole Vuyekschnuk in the United States after it was damaged by suicide attacks al-Qaeda at anchor in the port of Aden, Yemen. During the last revision in 2003 was increased carrying capacity of the vessel, as well as increased maneuverability and stability. The ship re-entered service in January 2004. After these improvements Blue Marlin delivered the oil platform Thunder Horse PDQ, weighing 60,000 tons in Corpus Christi, Texas. In July 2005 Blue Marlin moved the gas refinery Snøhvit from its construction site in Cadiz for 11 days. About this truck told in a TV show on Channel Extreme Engineering Discovery, as well as in the program Mega Movers on the History Channel. In November 2005, the ship left Corpus Christi, Texas, to move the massive marine radar X-band in Adak, Alaska. The ship reached Pearl Harbor, January 9, 2006, breaking the 15,000 miles. In January 2007, Marlin was hired to move the two rigs from Halifax Harbour to the North Sea.
