Exotic Cars

Searching for a quality luxury car will inevitably bring anyone to the rather apt adjective, “exotic”. Exotic food or exotic beauty may be more clearly defined, but what really makes for an exotic sports car?

Sleek and Elegant Design

Part of what makes an exotic sports car is the vehicles’ streamlined, sleek, and smooth designs, all of which serve functional purposes to the overall performance of the car albeit being so highly aesthetically pleasing.

Indeed, even exotic sports car makers know emphasis that car enthusiasts and racers put on design per se. After all, owning an exotic sports car in contrast to owning a car is, in itself, a status symbol. This status is endowed not only by the make of the car but also the style and visual appeal.

In fact, companies like Ferrari even employ design houses to come up with their car designs. Design powerhouse Pininfarina, for example, designed the 2002 Ferrari ENZO.

Breakneck Speeds

While design is one of the considerations of many car enthusiasts, the primary characteristic that by-far differentiates a sports car from the rest is its acceleration and maintainable road speed. When it comes to sports cars, it’s all a matter of speed, speed, and more speed. A pretty car won’t cut it if it cannot deliver the exhilarating ride that is expected of every sports car.

Exotic cars are continually challenging the rate at which a car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. Designs are beginning to be shaped from the engineering needs of the car, in order to suitably deliver a new record speed. As of the moment, the 1994 Dauer 962 LeMans continues to reign with 2.6 seconds. However, with the likes of the 2002 Ferrari ENZO being designed based on the specifications of making a fast car, expect faster sports cars in the near future.

One-in-a-Million

Indeed, exotic sports cars aren’t the type that mass produced and you can’t but then “off-the-lot”. Part of its exotic appeal is the fact that you can only have a certain number of models made available for sale. The rarer and more difficult to acquire, the greater a car’s exotic value.

It’s in the Name

Most cars don’t need visualization to be called exotic, they just are. These would include your cult sports car classics—your Porsche, your Ferrari, your Lamborghini.

While an ‘exotic sports car’ may be subjectively defined over a huge stratum, it’s safe to believe that these qualities are more or less held in commonality by any definition. At any rate, one look at a car may be enough to give you a clue.

Tip Sports Cars

Sometimes the best buys are made with pre-owned products. This is particularly true in the case of sports cars. Many people would like to have a sports car mainly for the performance but some may want to simply experience the sheer enjoyment that only a sport’s cars can give. Buying a brand new sports car may be too much expense for many people, that's why a pre-owned or second hand sports car should be considered.

Here some good advice in the purchasing of pre-owned sports cars.

1. Set expectations
Many people go out to buy a pre-owned sports car with a brand new car in mind. Buying pre-owned sports cars is about getting the best value for your money. Knowing your needs and preferences is also a must in buying pre-owned sports cars.

2. Set a budget
Buying a sports car, even pre-owned ones can be expensive Researching through internet browsing or buying “buy and sell” car magazines can give a buyer a general feeling about the current prices of different sports car models.

3. Examine carefully
A buyer must be careful in inspecting the pre-owned car and take his time doing so. There are four essential elements of the car that should be thoroughly inspected: the interior, the body, the engine, and the papers. A well-maintained sports car is worth buying.

Open the hood and examine the car's engine. Many people may not know too much about car electronics but inspection will give a buyer a general feel of how the car has been maintained by the previous owner.

Check the inside of the tailpipe. If it is greasy, that means that there is a problem with the engine compression.

Check for scratches or dents on the cars body. Of course, do not forget to check the car’s title, etc. Missing papers will cost the buyer additional money or prevent the purchase.

4. Test Drive
Before a purchase, the buyer should take the car for a test drive. This is a “must” for all cars, not only for pre-owned ones. An assessment of the over-all handling and performance of the car should be made during the test drive.

Buying a pre-owned maybe the best choice in purchasing a sports car, especially when one is faced by budget constraints. Pre-owned sports cars have the potential to give the same excitement and fun that brand new ones can give. Choose and buy wisely and have fun while doing so.

Brand New Sports Car

Driving around town in a brand new sports car may be one of the best experiences for a driver. Sports cars don't only give superior driving performance and comfort; they also give confidence to the owner of the car. Sports cars can be seen as the ultimate “eye candy” in the automobile world.

Buying a brand new sports car can also be a scary thing because of the money involved. How do you one shop for a brand new sports car? Here are some helpful tips in doing so:

1) Think about it a hundred times
There is a big difference in buying a sports car and a sedan. There is also a big difference in between a brand new model and an older one. A buyer must carefully assess his needs several times before deciding to buy a brand new model. This is particularly true if the budget is quite tight. But even if one can generously afford a brand new model, he must remember that money that is put in the wrong car is wasted money.

A buyer should also consider waiting for a little while if he is looking at a particular model which is new but is on the verge of  being taken off the "brand new" list. This move could save him a lot of money while getting the same value that he would have gotten a few months back. This is an effective strategy if he intends to keep the car for a long time.

2) List and Check
A buyer should make a checklist of what he wants in a sports car. He should then compare the top scorers in his list. Factors such as size, comfort, engine performance and other details may be the deciding factor for the purchase.

3) Mind the Sticker Price
Always bear in mind that the sticker price is the highest price that the market can put on a particular model. Negotiations can bring the price down if done correctly.

4) Financing First
A buyer must make provisions for financing before making a purchase. Banks may be the best choice for car financing but the approval process can take some time. A buyer must also set extra money aside for peripheral expenses such as taxes and documents processing.

A brand new sports car is a dream for everyone. When someone has the capacity to realize the dream of buying a sports car, he must be wise and careful in doing so. A good purchase will make the sports car experience much more pleasant for the buyer.

airline guide

Many of you travel through different modes of transport such as car, bus, train etc. Traveling through air is considered to be luxurious and also reduces the time span of your travel. It’s very fast and convenient while you travel via air. While you plan to travel via air, airlines guide helps you to know the different places your flight shall make a halt, flight schedules and other necessary information.

Most of the airline companies have launched their online websites where you can find all the latest information with the click of your mouse. Such online air travel guide informs the following:

1. If you want to know the shortest route or flight duration between your departure and destination place, you can easily find it online.

2. You can find the direct destination from where you depart just by entering the correct information about the places in the boxes you find on the website.

3. You could easily find the terminal from where your flight departs from and arrive into just by entering the online code and flight number.

4. You have the ease to find all the routes an airline flow on a particular date just by entering the name of the airline.

5. You can find all the destinations that you need to fly by selecting the maximum amount of time you want to fly.

6. You can also find airlines that fly direct on specific routes.

7. You can find first and last flights of any particular airline on a specific day.

8. If you want to know which airline is operating your flight you can easily find it with the help of airlines guide.

9. All the relevant information about air fares, hotels and restaurants on the airports and maps and directions of your perspective flight.

10. You will find it very beneficial in case if you are carrying much luggage as it also gives cargo information.

In each way, considering an airlines guide is very beneficial to plan out your future air travel.

Small Aircraft

Anyone who has held their hand out of a car into the wind to play airplane already has a fundamental impression of control surfaces on the airplane.

When the heel of the palm went down, the airpressure under the hand pushed the hand up. That's called lift. The airflow over/under the hand changes with the shape of the hand or airfoil. If you had little cut-outs near your wrist, there wouldn't be as much lift.

The tail section contains control surfaces for keeping the plane stable and controllable.

1) Horizontal: The horizontal, non-moving part is called the stabilizer, and it prevents uncontrolled up-and-down motion of the nose. The small hinged sections on each side are called elevators, which work in unison. It is controlled by the cockpit control wheel/stick and increases or decreases lift. When forward pressure is applied on the wheel, the elevators move downward, which increases the length of the tail causing more lift, which forces the tail upward, causing the nose to drop. There is also a small hinged section in the elevator which is controlled by a small vertical wheel on the cockpit console which is used to finetune the elebator trim. Hense the name trim tab.

2) Vertical: The vertical non-moving part which prevents the nose from uncontrolled swinging side to side. The large hinged section is the rudder. The rudder is controlled by the foot pedals in the cockpit, and deflects the tail to the right or left.

The wings generate most of the lift to hold the plane in the air. Different models of aircraft will have wings of different shapes and in different vertical locations. On a Cessna, the wing is high, and on a Piper, it is low. On an F14, the can change from a forward angle to "swept back".

On most small planes, the wings also carry the fuel.

There are many control surfaces on a wing:

1) The aileron is the hinged part of the back of the wing towards the tip which is used to roll the wings from side to side. There is one on each side of the plane and they work opposite of each other. When one moves up, the other moves down.

2) Flaps are the hinged sections on the back of the wing near the fuselage. Flaps are deployed downward on takeoff and landing to increase the lift produced by the wing and allows the plane to fly at slower speeds.

3) Spoilers and Slats are used on high performance/commercial aircraft and also changed the aerodynamics of the wing.

Safe Flying

Safety is a foremost concern of any traveler, regardless of whether the trip is for business or for pleasure. Never has this need been more emphasized until recently, in light of 9/11 and of the latest bombings in London. These attacks have somewhat made people wary of traveling, especially traveling by airplane.

However, despite these risks, the US Federal Aviation Administration claims that airline accidents are rare, with the odds of death about 1 to 7 million. Most airplane disasters occur usually during the plane’s takeoff, climb, descent or landing.

To minimize safety risks passengers face during travel by air, the following measures are recommended:

Fly non-stop. Since airline accidents occur mostly on takeoff, climb, descent or landing, flying non-stop avoids these as much as possible. Not all direct flights are non-stop, though, so it is best to check with one’s travel agent.

Fly on larger aircrafts. The design and certification of aircrafts with a seating capacity of at least 30 are strictly regulated. The chances of passenger survival in case of fatal accidents are also higher in larger aircrafts.

Pay attention to the pre-flight briefing. The information given on pre-flight briefings tend to be repetitious, but it still pays to listen to them. The seating and layout of an aircraft depends on what kind of aircraft it is, so the location of the exits differs as well.

Avoid storing heavy articles in overhead storage bins. Overhead storage bins may not be able to hold heavy articles during turbulence. Heavy items should therefore be stored elsewhere.

Keep your seatbelt on. As in any vehicle, seatbelts provide additional protection for the passenger. This is especially helpful when turbulence occurs.

Listen to the flight attendants. Airlines employ flight attendants not only to serve passengers but also to ensure safety within the aircraft. It is best to listen to what they have to say first before one starts complaining or asking questions.

Do not bring hazardous materials in the aircraft. Some materials such as gas and corrosives react differently in the contained and pressurized interior of the aircraft. If allowed by the airline, these materials should be stored in their proper containers.

Do not drink too much. Alcohol has a stronger effect on the body in higher altitudes than at sea level.

Wear sensible clothing. It is advised that clothes made of natural fiber should be worn when flying because synthetic fabrics melt onto a person’s skin and cause more serious burns. Women should also take care not to wear high heels when flying.

Stay alert. It is important to keep one’s wits about one’s self in case of emergencies so there would be less panic and people would be able to get out of the aircraft more quickly and efficiently.

Private Jet services

Traveling on a private jet means you save time and energy. Its hassle-free and a much more productive and stress-free way to fly. It puts you in control. Private jet charter services have made it very easy for people to organize instant business trips. Especially for business tycoons, jet charter travel is of great importance. There are several advantages of hiring a private jet:

Scheduling

You are the boss here. Your aircraft would leave when you decide. The main advantage of hiring private charter flights is the freedom of scheduling. You can plan out the entire schedule according to your business needs and fly at any time you want. You can also alter the schedule if required.

Time-Saver

For business community time is money. Wastage of precious time means loss of millions. Normally, traveling by a commercial airline lead to a great wastage of time due to delayed or cancelled flights. On the other hand with private jet charter services you save time reserving tickets, registering, making queues for security, getting the luggage etc. In short, you avoid delays and save a lot of precious time.

Size

Here you are the king. You choose the private air charter service which suits your needs. You can choose from a variety of aircrafts like light jets, midsize jets, super mids, jumbo jets or even helicopters according to your requirements, i.e. seating capacity, speed of travel, etc. Now that’s the luxury you will never get when traveling on commercial flight.

Additional Facilities

A private air charter service also ensures that you get excellent gourmet meals, ground transportation facilities and return services to make your trip convenient and memorable. You dictate the needs here. You can also demand specific items to be served on board like vegetarian meals or a certain drink.

Added Security

The most important benefit of private jet charter services is that you get a high level security. It’s hassle-free. You don’t need to stand in a queue to get through the security area. No need to worry about luggage loss. You get high level of comfort, privacy and security.

Choose your Airport

With private jets you get the facility of choosing the airport you want to land in. You can decide to land in a less crowed airport, where you can save your precious time in car and ground transportation.

A private jet charter service ensures that its customer service personnel are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet client’s demands. It provides corporate, executive and independent travelers with top level security, comfort, privacy and flexibility; which is not available in any other mode of transportation.

Probably that’s why more and more corporate houses are now beginning to prefer private jet charter services to regular commercial flights to ensure their people reach the right place at the right time with minimal hassles and fatigue.

Airlines

The airline industry is in a constant state of flux. In 2005, Trans Meridian Airlines quit doing business while EOS Airlines and Maxjet Airways took to the skies. By early 2006, Independence Air quit flying and Virgin America announced that they were seeking U.S. government approval in hopes of taking their first flight. Beyond the U.S. borders, the Mexican airline industry is in the process of being revolutionized as the Mexican government divests itself of interest in two leading carriers. With this particular decision a handful of new carriers are set to take off south of the U.S. border. To keep track of the all the changes involves a ton of work, but I've done the hard work for you. The following list contains all of the current airlines serving the Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Stay tuned…more air carriers are certain to follow while some existing carriers may call it quits!

How many names do you recognize? Some carriers are strictly charter operators while others fly regionally. Still others are very small operators of Cessna aircraft, not what you might consider “airline” aircraft, but in the eyes of the Federal Aviation Administration they are:

•    Aeromexico

•    Air Canada

•    Air Labrador

•    Air Transat

•    AirTran Airways

•    Alaska Airlines

•    Allegiant Air

•    Aloha Airlines

•    American Airlines

•    ATA

•    Avolar Aerolíneas

•    Big Sky Airlines

•    Cape Air

•    Chautauqua Airlines

•    Continental Airlines

•    Delta Airlines

•    EOS Airlines

•    Frontier Airlines

•    Gulfstream Int'l Airlines

•    Hawaiian Airlines

•    JetBlue Airways

•    Maxjet Airways

•    Mesa Air Group

•    Mexicana Airlines

•    Miami Air Int'l

•    Midwest Airlines

•    North American Airlines

•    Northwest Airlines

•    Pace Airlines

•    Pen Air

•    Primaris Airlines

•    Ryan Int'l Airlines

•    Shuttle America

•    Simmons Air

•    Song

•    Southwest Airlines

•    Spirit Airlines

•    Sun Country Airlines

•    Ted

•    United Airlines

•    USA 3000 Airlines

•    USAirways

•    WestJet Airlines

•    World Airways

To keep the list simple, cargo carriers were omitted. Otherwise, operators such as UPS, Kalitta Air, and Emery would have been included.

Contact the carriers directly to find out what schedules they are keeping and airfare information. Perhaps you'll find a "bargain" in the crowd and be able to try out an all new carrier.

Apple iPod

Tony Fadell, former employee of General Magic and Phillips, envisioned a brand new MP3 player. Unlike the flash memory-based MP3 players from existing companies, Fadell wanted to deliver a small hard drive-based player that was linked with a content delivery system where users could legally obtain and download music. The first company he pitched it to was RealNetworks (in 2000), who were already in control of a large content delivery system through Real's premium radio and television channels. Real could not rationalize going through the trouble of releasing an accessory to their already profitable system. Fadell then turned to Apple. The executives at Apple were very enthusiastic about implementing Fadell's plan at Apple - unbeknownst to Fadell, Apple had bought the rights to SoundJam MP months before. He was hired in early 2001 and was given a development team of around thirty people and a deadline of one year to release a successful product.

In early October, Apple began hyping the iPod's release (which was still a secret from the press after eight months of development). The hype culminated in an announcement that Apple would make a major announcement on October 23, 2001, and that it was "not Mac". The iPod was announced to the world from a rented auditorium near Apple's corporate campus in Cupertino. The audience - and the rest of the computer industry - was shocked by the product. No one grasped the importance of the device to Apple and the music industry in general until much later. Many reacted to the product with hostility, with criticisms that ranged from its $400 price to the scroll wheel and its lack of Windows compatibility.

The iPod's been around for a few years now but rather than being long in the tooth, it's been re-invented numerous times by Apple Inc. and is now a seriously impressive piece of kit. The recent advent of the iPod Touch has added to the line of existing models, rather than simply replacing existing technology. The result, is a lineup of different models, each bringing their own speciality to the table. From the ipod Nano, with solid state memory and minimal size to the iPod classic, with hard drive and excessively large storage capacity, the range of iPods available will suit everyone from Gym freaks to music fans.

So why is it so popular? Well, it's not so much the design any more, but the hype that surrounds the Apple iPod. You see, when originally released, the iPod was at the top of it's game, with the largest capacity, intuitive design and ergonomics built into the control buttons and software. We've moved on from that though. Every manufacturer out there has an Hard disk mp3 player in some major store. Apple however have moved the whole idea of the iPod, let alone it's range of computers, out of mainstream sales and into a Chique, hip and trendy twenty something got to have it style. Much like say- Greenwich was once a hip place to be seen in Manhattan. Apple have currently cornered the market- even created a brand new market all to themselves. Smacks of Sony and the Walkman all over again. At least Apple have the Mac to fall back on at the end of it all.

DLP TVs

Even today, Texas Instruments remains the primary manufacturer of this technology. Many different manufacturers license the technology from Texas Instruments, and build their products around the TI chipset. In addition to its use in televisions and projectors, DLP technology is used in a number of specialized applications such as lithography and imaging.

DLP technology differs from other video technology in that it utilizes a small digital micromirror device (DMD) to tilt more than 1.3 million of these tiny mirrors, each of them smaller than the width of a human hair either toward or away from the light source contained within the DLP device. This process creates the dark and light pixels which appear on the projection screen.

The light is then filtered through a color wheel rotating at 120 times per second, to produce a technology that is capable of producing some 1024 different shades of gray. It is this gradation of color that really makes DLP technology stand out, and these gradations of color are achieved using color filters which are backlit using just the right intensity of pure white light.

There are four major components to the DLP system:

The DMD chip, which controls the mirrors
The color wheel
The light source and
The optics
In order to produce the picture, the light from the lamp passes through the color wheel filter and into the DMD chip, which then switches its mirrors on or off according to the color which is reflecting off of them.

This digital light processing, or DLP, technology is rapidly becoming a major player in the world of the rear projection TV, and more than two million of these TVs have been sold. More than 50 manufacturers sell at least one model of DLP based television, and as of 2004 the DLP TV had achieved a 10% market share. In addition, small standalone units, known in the business as front projectors, have become popular items both in the world of business presentations and in the world of home theater.

Advantages of DLP Technology

There are a number of important advantages to television sets that use DLP technology to produce their displays. Some of these advantages include:

Images that are smooth and free of jitter
No possibility of screen burn in
Good contrast
Good depth of color
In addition, DLP rear projection televisions are generally smaller, thinner and lighter in weight than traditional CRT televisions of similar size. Another potential advantage of the new DLP technology is that the light source is replaceable, which may be able to provide a longer lifespan than either traditional CRT or new plasma screen displays. The light source of the DLP unit is much easier to replace than that in an LCD model, and many models of DLP television feature light sources that are easily changed by the end user. Of course no one wants to replace the light source before its time, and the newest LED light sources on the market, introduced in April of 2006, have been shown to last 20,000 hours before needing to be replaced.

Disadvantages of DLP Technology

Of course there are some disadvantages to DLP television technology as well, and it is important for those in the market for a new TV to be aware of these potential pitfalls. For instance, in some single chip DLP designs, viewers may be bothered by the so called “rainbow effect”, which affects how colors are displayed on the TV and perceived by the viewer.

In addition to this rainbow effect, some possible disadvantages of DLP technology include:

Not as thin or as sleek as LCD or plasma displays, even though the weight is comparable
Some models have noisy fans
The replacement bulbs can be quite expensive, ranging from $200 to as much as $500
Competing Technologies

The main competitor to DLP in the market for rear projection televisions is known as LCoS (liquid crystal on silicon). This technology creates its images by using a stationary mirror which is mounted on the surface of a chip, and then uses a liquid crystal matrix to control how much light is reflected to create the image. These competing standards are still being worked out, so it is important to shop carefully and to read lots of reviews before making a final purchase.

When shopping for a DLP television, it is important of course to learn as much as you can about the new technology, and it is just as important to shop around for the best possible price. When shopping for a new DLP TV, it is important to look carefully at the kind of tuner the unit uses. Many modern television sets are designed to be multisystem devices, meaning that not only are they capable of reading the NTSC signal used in North America and Japan, but they will also be able to deal with competing standards such as PAL and SECAM. This can be an important consideration, so it is important to make sure you understand these various formats and how they affect you as an end user.

It is important as well to look at the type of components that can be connected to the new DLP television. Most modern TVs are built to accept signals not only from cable TV and satellite TV boxes but from DVD players, VCRs, and even computers. The presence of a VGA or DVI connection will allow the unit to function as a computer monitor as well as a television, but it is important to use caution when using any kind of rear projection TV for this purpose. While plasma TVs can often make excellent computer monitors, technologies like DLP may struggle to provide the depth and resolution that computer users are used to.

Even though the prices of televisions in general, and DLP televisions in particular, have become a lot more affordable in recent years, these TVs are still major purchases, and it makes sense to give that purchase the consideration it deserves. As with any purchase, shopping around carefully will help you get not only the lowest price but the best overall value as well.

Buing Boat

You're in the market for a boat and you'd love to buy one at the next boat show. But which boat is the right one for you? It's hard to know, especially if you're a first-time buyer.

A boat is a big investment, so it's important to do careful research to find the one that best meets your needs. Buyers should consider not only the price but also the manufacturer of the engine and the boat, the size and fuel capacity.

The first step is to determine how you will use the boat. What types of activities do you plan to do on your boat? Will you be cruising, fishing, playing watersports or a combination of these? After you have an idea of the type of boat you need, it's time to weed through the options.

One helpful resource is Boat Test.com, a site that allows prospective boat buyers to compare boats by type, size and manufacturer. After you specify what you're looking for, Boat Test.com generates a head-to-head comparison of all the models that fit your criteria.

Visitors to the site can see articles about various boats and watch videos of independently conducted tests for each model as well as video clips on engines, electronics and more. After narrowing down your options to a few models, you can go to the manufacturer's dealer locator through BoatTest.com to get more information and pricing.

If you plan to attend a boat show, doing research beforehand will save you a lot of time because you only will need to visit the exhibits of the specific boats you are interested in. At the show, take some time to look at the boats up close and check out the workmanship, ergonomics and other factors that may influence your decision.

If you prepare ahead of time, you'll also be able to tell the dealer exactly what you want in a boat. Armed with price and performance comparisons, you can simply walk from one dealer to the next until you get the price that is acceptable to you. In the end, you'll head home with a new boat and the satisfaction that you got the best deal possible.  - NU

Charter Yacht

When choosing a Caribbean charter yacht, there are three categories of yachts. They are power yachts, sailing yachts and multihull sailing yachts, such as catamarans and trimarans. You can also have a special Caribbean charter to learn about the art of sailing a yacht. This will give you the knowledge and training you need to charter a yacht all on your own without the need of a captain and crew. When you book a Caribbean charter yacht, you can browse the yacht catalog to choose the yacht that best meets your needs.

You can choose a Caribbean yacht charter that specializes in bringing passengers to the best scuba diving locations. This type of yacht has all the space you need for storing your equipment as well as staterooms and a dining room. If you are new to scuba diving, you can take lessons from the skilled crew of the Carribean yacht charter and get the instruction that you need. There are times when you can just relax on the deck of the Caribbean charter yacht or enjoy trips onshore to experience the true Caribbean culture.

The company you choose to deal with for your Caribbean yacht charter will supply you with a sample itinerary for a week long vacation. However, you don’t have to stick to this schedule and you can make different decisions where you want to travel on the Caribbean charter yacht. The Carribean islands you choose do have to be navigable and have appropriate anchorages and the captain will be able to give you advice about this aspect of the charter. You do charter the yacht yourself, so you won’t have to share your Caribbean yacht charter with another group.

There are occasions when you can book a Caribbean charter yacht where you do not know the other passengers. An example of this could be a singles only charter or a ladies only charter. Of course, you will know this when you make the booking for a Carribean yacht charter, but it is helpful to know that you can enjoy a yacht charter without having a group of your own lined up. While you might think that a Caribbean yacht charter is very expensive, but when you compare it with the cost of a vacation at a tropical resort, there is very little difference between the prices.

Fly to the island of St. Thomas to meet the Caribbean charter yacht. From there you can sail to the island of St. John and have a leisurely lunch on board the yacht. Spend some time swimming, walk along the beach and drink in the Caribbean sunset. When you arrive back at the yacht, there will be a scrumptious meal waiting for you. If this sounds like an idyllic vacation, there is a Caribbean charter yacht waiting for you to make your booking.

Private Jet

High traffic is inevitable at private airports during popular events or holiday seasons (think Super Bowl or winter in Aspen). With that in mind, we have put together some information and helpful tips to ensure that your private jet travel to bustling airports is both relaxing and stress-free.

"What is an STMP?"   Special Traffic Management Programs (STMP's) are implemented for special events that attract thousands of people and aircraft to participating airports. The FAA requires users to make arrival and departure reservations to and from these airports to manage the flow of arrivals and departures for these events.

"What is a slot time?"   Slot times refer to airports expecting high traffic volume due to special events or seasonal activity. Slot times are issued to stagger incoming flight traffic in order to relieve air traffic control duties. Slot time reservations are typically available 72 hours prior to the estimated time of arrival.

Private Jet Travel Tips:
•  Be flexible with your departure time requests. Allow a window for departure times. Slot times will not be assigned more than 72 hours in advance to the flight departure request.
•  Avoid changing flight dates & times.  Slot times are valuable and go quickly, so try to stick to your flight schedule to avoid conflicts.
•  Arrive on time.  Particularly in mountainous areas, weather can change rapidly. The closer you leave to your intended time, the better opportunity you have to guarantee your arrival time. So if your slot departure is 8am, please allow time for boarding so the jet will be ready and in position for an 8am departure.

Jet Charter

The airplane and jet charter business is increasingly becoming more accessible and easier to use for the mid to small business industry. Even in the face of rising fuel costs and the ease of meeting via video and web-conferencing, many companies are still flying their top executives around the country, or even the world, to attend their important meetings. If a company does not own their own business jet, rather than flying their CEO’s business or first-class on commercial flights, the increasing trend has become to charter a private executive business jet.

Why Charter a Private Business Airplane?
The following are four reasons why chartering an executive business aircraft makes good business sense:

In Flight Security - Chartering an executive business jet provides a higher level of personal security that cannot be found on most of the commercial airlines today. Don’t forget that when you fly on a chartered private executive aircraft, you are renting the entire jet, not just one seat. This is why you can be sure of much greater security in terms of the protection of sensitive business information. You won’t have to worry about why the guy in the seat behind you frantically scribbling away in a notebook as your meeting is going on.

Efficiency - Chartered private executive airplane passengers will save more time during departure by having direct access to the aircraft instead of waiting in long lines at the airport security screenings. Not only that, but because it is possible for the jet to wait for you at the arrival location you can depart on your own timetable. It is possible to conduct a meeting in the early afternoon and still be home in time for dinner allowing you to be back to work the following morning.

Simplicity - It is now easier than ever before to charter an executive business aircraft. One of the easiest ways of finding an aircraft charter company is on the internet. However you can also search for aircraft charter brokers who act as your private charter jet liaison and can assist you in locating the best charter company that will suit your requirements.

Status Symbol - One of the biggest bonuses offered to quite a few prized CEO's is the use of the company jet. Many companies are noticing this, and to remain competitive in recruiting talent they have to offer the best perks. Chartering a private executive business jet has become the trend with several mid-sized businesses that can’t afford to purchase their own company jet. Yet another example why the aircraft charter business is on the increase.

It may sound more expensive at first, but this can be an excellent business decision. The jet will leave when you want it to leave, and depart from, or arrive at, an airport of your choice, while avoiding the stress caused by long security delays. Furthermore, depending upon the amount of passengers, the actual price tag of chartering business aircrafts can be comparable to that of any scheduled commercial flight.

UFO

What comes to mind when someone talks about a UFO? Do you think about the cover of a science fiction novel and the image of mysterious bluish lights beaming down from it? Do you think about a time when you were out late at night and you saw a flash of light, wondered what it was only to realize a moment later that what you saw wasn't a UFO - it was just the lights of a plane that was beginning its descent. Do you think of movies, or little green men, cartoons, or do you just turn away shaking your head?

A lot of people discuss UFOs as flying saucers - it seems to be the best description that they can come up with. Others suggest, rather dismissively, that UFO simply means unidentified flying object and that the light that someone saw flashing in the sky was either a plane, a helicopter or a reflection of light off of a cell phone tower or another metal object.

Reflections of light from a cell phone tower do little to explain away "mysterious materials" found in Roswell, New Mexico in the late 1940s. While the United States military has always stood their ground that these materials were merely fragments of a research balloon, a top secret test that ended badly, others offer another explanation. They assert that the materials were fragments of a UFO, an alien craft that crashed rather than safely landing. They believe that the "flying disc" - as it was called by military personnel - that was recovered could not be something from this world, and so began one of the most talked about UFO encounters in the world.

Many who believe that the UFO in Roswell, New Mexico deserved more attention than it was being given, believe that it wasn't something that could just be dismissed. In part, this is likely to have something to do with other stories surrounding the flying saucer. A farmer talked about having found materials miles away from Roswell, and the story was picked up by newspapers, accompanied by photos of the strange find - strips of rubber, something like aluminum foil, sticks. It's a story that has gained so much attention around the world that it has influenced many people's sense of alien life and alien visitations to earth.

If the Roswell, New Mexico story had never become so widespread, UFO and flying saucer may not be so common in our language, in our experiences and in novels, television programming and films. How common is it for people to see a UFO?

It's hard to say, really, because many people who see an unidentified flying object in the sky are reluctant to report it. Either the person who saw a UFO believes that there is a far more logical explanation or merely thinks that no one would believe them if they were to say anything about it. And yet, there are UFO sightings that are shared and that become the topic of conspiracy theories by those who believe that beings from other planets and galaxies have visited the earth.

One such incident occurred in 1980 in Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, England. Those who saw the UFO all claimed to have seen flashing lights coming from an unidentified flying object that was descending towards the woods - a UFO that was roughly the size of a car and seemed to float on a beam of light. After reports were made about the object, it was discovered that trees were damaged, radio frequencies became nothing but static and soil samples later showed radioactive activity.

Similarly, in Gulf Breeze, Florida in 1987 tales of a UFO began to circulate when a man saw a strange light coming from his lawn. When he saw the flying saucer, he grabbed a camera and started shooting photos as proof of what he had seen. Of course, in this situation, the story was not just of a UFO sighting, but about repeated experiences and of the man's being beamed up onto the craft.

Though discussions of these UFO sightings continue, and there has been audio recordings and photo documentation, it is still difficult to know whether or not the unidentified flying objects were indeed from space. Many claimed, in regard to the Gulf Breeze, Florida UFO sightings, that the man had manipulated the photographs and fabricated the story.

In each case, both sides - the believers and the skeptics - find evidence to support their claims. Those who believe in UFOs and alien visitations cite facts that they claim cannot otherwise be explained. Those who are skeptical offer their own explanations along with their own supporting evidence. Which side is right? For now, that's up to you to decide.

Style of Biker

From touring to off-road riding to track riding to cyclo-riding to recreational biking—there are almost as many different styles of riding as there are bikes. The following is a discussion of three of the most popular styles of biking today.

Street/Urban Riding

Street/Urban riding is when you bike through urban areas, ride on ledges and other man-made obstacles. Some riders execute tricks as well as stalls and grinds. Hybrid bikes, sometimes called city bikes, are typically used for street/urban riding. Hybrid bikes are a cross between a mountain bike and a road bike. Most have front suspension with wide comfortable seats and upright handlebars.

Free Riding

The essence of free riding has it origins on the shores of British Columbia. As some free riders have explained it, free riding is more than just riding, it’s about riding with your friends and doing things on your bike that push the limits of both yourself and your bike. It’s not about being the fastest or coming up with a new trick. Rather, it’s about being totally free on your bike. Free riding is different for everyone. Essentially, when you ride for pure enjoyment, do your own thing, in your own way, that’s free riding--making it more of a mindset than a structured style of riding. For example, you could free ride downhill, cross-country or down the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland.

Many free ride bikes closely resemble downhill bikes and weigh as much, although they are usually designed to be easier to pedal. Free ride bikes should be in the 30 to upper 50 pound range, have a steeper angled frame in order to make maneuvering on narrow obstacles possible, and be built from stronger, heavier materials.

Downhill Mountain Biking

If you think downhill biking is all about kicking back, stretching your arms and cruising at a leisurely pace, think again. Even though it’s all downhill, biking down a mountain demands concentration, quick reflexes and bike-handling skills much different than free riding or city riding. It’s also a blast! Downhill mountain biking races involve race courses that are designed for riders to speed down while navigating huge jumps, obstacles and more. It’s very similar to motor cross racing.

While it’s true that all bikes go downhill, bikes that provide the optimum ride for Downhill Mountain Biking have what is called full suspension. This means that the front and rear of the frame are equipped with shock absorbers.

Buying Tips

The Right Bike for You

Want to buy a bike but don’t know where to begin? Maybe a friend of yours recommends getting a certain bike, while another biking buddy insists that his bike is the best choice for you. Who do you listen to? How about neither? What you need to do is sit down, relax and figure out what your priorities and preferences are to determine what bike is going to work best for you. Here are some points you will definitely want to consider before you pick out your new set of wheels.

What’s Your Riding Style?

Start by asking yourself why you want to ride to begin with. Is it for exercise? Do you want to fly through the air for the thrill or the sport of it? Where are you going to ride? Through city streets or back road trails? Once you define your style of riding, it will be easier for you to choose the kind of bike you need.

There Are a Variety of Bike Options Available

Although there is a multitude of bike styles, the following are some of the most popular:

Mountain Bikes: These are durable bikes you can take off the road. Mountain bikes have fat tires, comfortably wide handlebars, and low gears for easier navigation of hills.
Road Bikes: If you plan on doing long rides, pavement riding, this is the bike for you. Road bikes are built for speed, have thinner tires and handlebars, and are overall, much lighter in weight.
Hybrid Bikes: This type of bike combines the features of mountain bikes and road bikes. Hybrid bikes are perfect for those who want to experiment with all styles of riding.
Cruisers: These bikes are generally one speed and are constructed for literally just that—cruising.
Comfort Bikes: These are specialty mountain bikes or hybrids that offer more upright riding and softer seats. These bikes are essentially designed for riders who desire more comfort in their ride.

Size Matters

Some bike models offer up to eight different sizes. To determine the right size for you, measure your inseam—this will determine the right size frame, in terms of stand-over-height. Like a pair of jeans, the right fit is important.

Ask Questions

Don’t be afraid to ask advice about what you don’t understand, such as quick release, bike maintenance, what kind of equipment you need, etc. Knowing what you need to know is the difference between easy riding and not so easy riding.

Buy a Bike You Like

Take even the smallest details into consideration when buying a bike: how it rides, size, how it looks, color--everything. After all, it’s your set of wheels--ride it proudly.

110cc Pocket Bikes

A 110cc pocket bike is a miniature motorcycle that is becoming increasingly popular.  There are even Pocket Bike races held world wide now, with some of the pros taking home thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.  110cc pocket bikes look like they were built for kids, they are typically 38 to 47 inches long and weigh about 50 pounds, but don't let the small size fool you.  The 110cc pocket bikes are specifically built for adult drivers.

The 110cc bikes are made in Italy, and can reach speeds of up to 75 miles per hour.  The 110cc pocket bikes have a 30 inch wheelbase, which in layman's terms means that you are barely inches from the ground.  This definitely adds an adrenaline rush when it comes to high speed turns!  Due to their miniature size, riding a pocket bike offers certain thrills that cannot be obtained on a regular motorcycle.

Pocket bike racing is also the most affordable motor sport in existence today, which is no small part why it is also one of the fastest growing.  This draws participants from all over the world, offering them the ability to get in on motor sports, when they might not be able to otherwise.  Make no mistakes about it, though, riding a pocket bike isn't like riding a regular motorcycle, even though the concept of balancing on two wheels at high speed is the same.  Due to its small size, riding a pocket bike requires more balance, self control, agility, and faster reaction times.  The adrenaline rush is a major reason many beginning participants become hooked and life-long fans.

Pocket bikes can be suitable for children over the age of nine, as long as they are very carefully supervised.  The bikes were designed for adults, and so are set to support up to 300 pounds of weight.  110cc pocket bikes are not designed or intended for street use, these are bikes made for racing on tracks.  Protective gear should be worn by both kids and adults at all times.  This includes, but is not limited to, helmet, gloves, knee and elbow pads, and leather clothes in case of an accident.  While they may look like toys, the 110cc pocket bikes were designed for extreme motor racing, and need to be treated with the same respect accordingly.

LG Electronics 50PC3D

The LG Electronics 50PC3D Plasma HDTV with the 50 inch plasma screen is an average product when it comes to HDTVs. Although it received an satisfactory score at the tests, it has a good design and the price is low.

When speaking about the color quality, tones and brightness this HDTV manages to make them look ok. Although when you look at the skin color you may notice some pixelation, the overall quality is good and the skin looks quite real. When watching something that shows light and strident colors, the LG Plasma HDTV manages to polish them and brings out a nice combination without hurting your eyes. Also, the night scenes are really fantastic as this HDTV has good quality when it comes to black or darker spots in movies.

This LG Plasma HDTV also comes with many connections like three HDMI inputs which are similar to the ones found on the Pioneer Kuro PDP-5010FD. Keep in mind that it comes with a nice USB port that lets you use a flash card reader or a thumb device. You can also see high quality photos on the TV.

Another great feature of this Plasma screen is the remote control which has controls for any slide shows and lets you manage your photos manually. So if you simply want to view some photos get comfy and operate everything with the remote control.

The swiveling technology is like the one on the Samsung FP-T5084 but easier to use. Make sure you loosen the little bolt from the back if you want to swivel your TV. When reaching the back of your TV you can see the plastic half loop which ensures that your cables are packed together. An eye catching feature is the design of the display setting buttons, which is very elegant and futuristic. The buttons will only become visible when you touch the pad under the bezel.

Although this TV is rather average in quality, it has an organized structure that makes it very easy to use. You can adapt the colors and harmonize the aspect by using the on-screen display menu. The adaptable features are the red, green, and blue colors which can be found in the color temperature menu.

You can also choose from the predetermined settings if you don’t know how to adapt things manually. The options are: Standard, Mild, and Dynamic. They change to different levels of contrast, brightness and vividness. Although the Dynamic color looks most appealing, it makes things look a bit unnatural, so you might opt for the other two predetermined settings which look more realistic.

The option that lets you choose two customizable setting could prove useful if you want to switch from one to another without manually choosing all the settings. All of these can be made by using the touch pad or the remote. The remote’s design is not very eye catching as the buttons may seem a bit uncomfortable to use and it has no light (this will also prove uncomfortable in the dark).

The audio quality received a good score during the tests. Also, keep in mind that the speakers are on the sides of this TV and will make the panel design a little bigger than others from the same category. This will usually give a false view that the TV is bigger than others of similar size and shapes. The sound is very good and the LG Company guarantees your parts and labor warranty for two years, which is a good deal as most of the other producers offer less.

The LG Electronics 50PC3D Plasma HDTV has standard quality and may be a good TV for someone who doesn’t want to spend large sums of money on HDTVs. The sound quality may be a great advantage when choosing this product. However, if you want something extraordinary, you may be a little disappointed. So if you are looking for ok quality and not for best quality, this might suit your taste.

LG 50PY3DF

The LG 50PY3DF Plasma TV receives a big score in aesthetics compared to other brands in the same category of high quality television. Its tag price is attractive too, although it can't compete head-on in terms of performance against its competitors. This model targets consumers who give lot of consideration to affordability with a few good features.

Designed meticulously, the LG 50PY3DF looks really enticing and one reason is that it is more affordable than other brands of plasma television. Tested against other TVs in its size category, this 50-inch plasma HDTV garnered an average performance rating that is equivalent to Good. However, for the low price, its features run a bit short compared to more expensive brands belonging to the same TV lineup.

Tests show that the LG 50PY3DF gives strong, satisfactory color quality on standard- and high-definition images but it projects brightness and contrast that can only be considered okay or average. In TV programs like the George Lopez Show, the skin tones revealed are fairly believable while some hints of pixels are present. Game broadcasts like that of the San Francisco Giants showed a good balance of orange and green colors. Details were good too, during the dark scenes in the movie like the Lord of the Rings.

In terms of connectivity, the LG 50PY3DF features three HDMI inputs compared to other brands, which have four. User can also utilize a USB port for data stored in card readers or thumb drives. This USB port allows the LG 50PY3DF to display photos in a slideshow with the packaged remote control to manage the settings and pan the photos when browsing.

With some adjustments at the back, this TV model can swivel like the Samsung FP-T5084 but not as smooth. For a more organized setup, cables can be tied together using a loop that is installed at the back where the swivel bolt can be found.  To adjust the display settings manually, user should look for a mini touchpad at the lower right portion that will launch the menu for the TV settings.

Display settings include menus for color temperature adjustments with the colors red, green, and blue as indicators. The menu also allows the adjustment of contrast, brightness, and vividness of the display through color presets for Dynamic, Standard, and Mild.  Dynamic is the most enticing preset although there is a bit of concern with how unreal the saturation is - images appear un-natural. With the Standard and Mild settings, images are more realistic.

There are two ways to set the display: through the remote control or through the mini touchpad on the lower right portion of the TV.  The keys on the remote control are not backlit and a bit cramped but it serves its function well with the control of the on-screen display.

Stacked against other similar plasma screens the LG 50PY3DF would not receive an A plus score because it lacks some features that experienced electronic users may need. However, studies have found that most home users do not need, want or know how to use all of the extra features that are bundled on their gadgets. Considering its great price, this LG is perfect for those who wants a good plasma screen without a load of useless features that they will not use.

The LG 50PY3DF TV's size is quite deceiving. It appears bigger than its counterparts because of the panel extensions on both sides where the built-in speakers have been incorporated. These speakers deliver good quality sound from tests ran on shows like the Phantom of the Opera. Each LG TV comes with a 2-year warranty on parts and labor - which is quite an edge for the brand since others offer only 1-year warranties.

Though the LG 50PY3DF may be a bit behind in performance and features, there are still users who put emphasis on the price. These price-conscious buyers may find themselves purchasing this model especially with its demonstrated features and good sound quality, which give value for the money.
